Job Description
Provide talented MBA and MHA students with access to mentoring and training within the healthcare space as part of a 11-week summer internship. The internship will provide the opportunity to learn about the structure, philosophy, values, and mission of MD Anderson Cancer Center, which is part of the University of Texas System. The internship will be a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional health care setting. It will provide real world experiences in the complex and distinctive features of the dynamic and rapidly changing healthcare industry.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Interns will learn about the interrelations of the medical center components in an environment that supports and encourages learning.
Provide hands-on and real-world experiences by conducting a 11-week project under the mentorship of a professional with relevant and related background in the field; Introduce to the complex organizational dynamics through a combination of shadowing and integration in the day-to-day activities of a team while also leading their assigned project; Introduce and develop an understanding of the common values shared by all health care professionals at MD Anderson.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Students must be currently enrolled in an MBA or MHA program at one of the following local programs.

Foundational knowledge in the following areas will be helpful but not required: data analysis, finance, managerial economics, marketing, accounting, strategy formulation and implementation, ethics, organizational behavior, and communications.

POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson follows the NIH stipend levels as outlined by the Kirchstein - NRSA. This full-time trainee position will provide a salary between $56,484 to $68,604, dependent upon the years of postgraduate experience.
