Job Summary |
The Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success oversees the development and application of policies and procedures that affect the student body in the areas of Enrollment Management and Student Success. The Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success facilitates the development and implementation of the University’s strategic enrollment management plan, promotes institution-wide recruitment, retention and completion of initiatives, and collaborates with faculty, staff, administration, student organizations, and community groups to ensure all student have access to all resources.

Essential Job Duties |
- Create, assess, update, and implements a Strategic Enrollment Management Plan that is data informed and aligns with the mission and vision of the University
- Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals such as conducting enrollment management related research and interprets and utilizes outcome data
- Define enrollment management department objectives and ensure that they align with the mission and vision of the University
- In collaboration with the enrollment management team, design, execute, and asses a comprehensive annual recruitment and retention plan that includes outreach to conferences, exhibits, evens, colleges and universities, diverse populations and cultural groups as well as strategic partnerships
- Lead all recruitment, retention, and completion efforts by creating innovative enrollment strategies to sustain and grow the enrollment numbers at Tuskegee University
- Work with campus leaders and faculty to determine the best placement methods for students in order to ensure success in their classes
- Develop, foster, and promote new opportunities with public and private sector entities
- Ensure a welcoming, accepting, and fair campus environment
- Recommend, develop, and implement policies and procedures that promote student success
- Monitor academic probation and dismissal
- Serve on President’s Cabinet to establish programs and policies that fulfill the mission and vision of the University
- Develop and monitor the budget of areas of responsibility, direct the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies, and monitor and approve expenditures
- Promote respect for students, faculty and staff and recognizes initiative and excellence
- Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, policies, and procedures
- Select, train, motivate, and evaluate administrative staff, establish and monitor employee performance objectives, prepare and present employee performance reviews, provide or coordinate staff training, work with employees to correct deficiencies and implement discipline procedures
- Prepare and present fact-based reports and other necessary correspondence to the President, Board of Trustees, and other committees when necessary
- Maintain open communication with the President
- Maintain awareness in current developments in enrollment management, student services, higher education and fields related to assigned functions
- Serve on committees and councils as directed by the President
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training) |
- Master’s Degree
- Doctorate preferred
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in education, higher education, school or public administration in a senior leadership role
- Senior level experience in enrollment management
- Experience in counseling or advising students on matters pertaining to education and career/vocational objectives
- Experience managing the positions of director or higher
- Experience with Ellucian/Colleague ERP preferred
- Must be able to travel

Skills and Attributes |
- Knowledge of marketing and communications principles
- Working knowledge of database software, internet software, spreadsheet and word processing software
- Working knowledge of outlook suite
- Proven excellent interpersonal skills for effective regular contact with diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
