Executive Director - Georgetown Area Parkinson’s Support Group (GAPS)
The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan implementation of Georgetown Area Parkinson’s Support Group (GAPS) and the execution of its mission to educate, support, and serve those with Parkinson’s Disease, movement disorders, and their caregivers. Key roles include leadership, fundraising, communication and marketing, program development and community outreach. The ED is a non-voting member of the Board of Directors. The ED serves at the pleasure of, and reports directly, to the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Facilitate monthly group meetings.
- Ensure program excellence, evaluation, and consistent quality of finance, administration, fundraising, and communications.
- Networking in the community including with current and potential volunteers, board members, committees, alumni, partners, and funders.
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Board of Directors.
- Lead, coach, develop, and retain a high-performance senior leadership team.
- Implement effective systems for program evaluation and progress tracking.
- Manage and respond to email and phone inquiries.
Planning and New Business
- Facilitate education and exercise opportunities for people with Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Disease and their care partners.
- Establish and maintain existing partnerships with vendors, funders, and community leaders.
Collaboration with Board Committees – Includes Finance, Governance and Nominating, Fundraising and Social Events, Programs, Communication and Marketing.
Qualifications
- Commitment to GAPS mission, vision, and core values.
- Knowledge of Parkinson’s Disease and movement disorders.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience.
- Degree in nonprofit management, health care, public administration, or equivalent experience.
- Track record of strategic development and operationalization.
- Commitment to quality programs and data-driven evaluation of outcomes.
- Excellence in organizational management, team development, and budget management.
- Experience working with Boards of Directors.
- Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience.
- Adept in common software including Microsoft Powerpoint, Word, Excel, MailChimp, WordPress, Google Suite applications as well as virtual meeting applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
- Passionate, driven, and self-directed.
Job Type: Part-Time or Contract, 25 hours per week
Benefits: Flexible schedule and work from home
Salary: $49,000-$58,000, commensurate with experience and education
