Youth and Adult Programs Department Director’s Role

The Youth and Adult Program Director (Y&ADP) reports to the Deputy Director. This role is responsible for the financial and administrative management of ODMF Youth & Adult Programs and initiatives. Specifically, the role encompasses:

1) guiding, supporting, and overseeing Youth & Adult Program Managers and Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) Program Manager with the administration of inclusionary, culturally responsive, family-driven and equity-driven approaches, 2) Alignment and Quality Assurance of Youth & Adult Program, Teamwork, 3) Internal and External Leadership, Collaboration and Partnership, 4) Communications, Marketing and Outreach, and 5) Fiscal Management of Youth & Adult Program.

Successful implementation connects external and internal stakeholders and results in ODMF consistently and unyieldingly realizing our vision, carrying out our mission, upholding our values, and appropriately serving culturally and linguistically diverse individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities and their families.

Responsibilities of the Director of Youth and Adults Programs include but are not limited to the followings:

1. Guide, support and oversee program managers and coordination of inclusive, equity-driven practices in service delivery for youth and adults with disabilities.

  • Foster a feedback culture through coaching sessions and individual development.
  • Create tools and clear communications to ensure managers fully understand their roles and responsibilities and expectations.
  • Create and source professional development opportunities to support goals for each team member.
  • Hold weekly team meetings and provide 1:1 check-in and coaching sessions for program managers.
  • Guild and oversee 90-day, 6 month, and annual performance evaluation of Program Managers.
  • Assisting managers in the administration of family-driven and equity-driven contracts, program activities, and services
  • Develop managers’ performance through professional development opportunities, contract and budget management, and program implementation.
  • Program Alignment and quality Assurance
  • Create, develop, and sustain a culturally responsive and equity-driven quality assurance system.
  • Ensure program design, development, implementation, and data collation and tracking are aligned with organizational vision and goals through cross-departmental teamwork.
  • Implement procedures for using Project Management Tools.
  • Review contracts for alignment with organizational vision, mission, and values.
  • Integrate organizational goals into program activities.
  • Provide feedback on reports prepared by managers and address contract-related issues. Submit quality reports to funders timely.
  • Lead the development and implementation of training curricula and lessons plans for ODMF Youth & Adult Program
  • Lead development and design of quality youth & adult programs that are based on consultation of Youth & Adult Program Managers, research-based and promising practices for serving culturally and linguistically diverse youth with disabilities and feedback from culturally and linguistically diverse youth with disabilities.
  • Internal and External Leadership and Collaboration
  • As a member of the executive leadership team, collaborate with team members to ensure program related activities, information, and issues are communicate with other ODMF Programs at weekly meetings.
  • Support and assist the Deputy Director in organizational strategic planning, implementation, and collaboration with other departmental leaders.
  • Represent ODMF in public, engage, outreach and collaborate with community partners.
  • Communications, Marketing and Outreach
  • Oversee marketing efforts aligned with organizational values.
  • Foster positive relationships with agencies and funders serving youth with disabilities.
  • Regularly update the Executive Team and funders on program activities.
  • Develop managers’ capacity to report effectively on program activities.
  • Create program brochures, one-pager, flyers, and high-quality presentations and collaborate with the Department of Director to promote programs through social media and events.
  • Fiscal Management
  • Collaborate with Development staff to ensure grants and other materials are aligned with the program goals and outcomes.
  • Obtain funding that is aligned with programming needs and services through grant writing and collaboration with the development team.
  • Lead program audits and site visits conducted by funders.
  • Enhance managers’ ability to engage and communicate effectively with funders.
  • Is responsible for the total program revenues and operating budgets.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department to create program spending plans, approve allowable expenses, monitor all program budgets and receipts monthly to ensure expenditures are following contract requirements, programs are not overspending, nor under spending.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in contract and project management and supervision of diverse staff.
  • Ability to work hybrid remote (2 days office, 3 days home).

· A master’s degree in social sciences, social services, human services, behavioral sciences or an allied field and five years of experience providing social services to people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
OR

· 6 years of experience in providing social services to people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
OR

· Equivalent experience/education

Skills:

  • Leadership in inclusive program development.
  • Culturally responsive decision-making.
  • Effective cross-cultural communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and program management tools.
  • Fiscal management and grant writing experience.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $92,572 - $101,338 per year DOE

Location: Hybrid remote position based in Kent, WA.
