Job Description
Position Summary
South Seattle College is looking to hire a full-time Campus Safety & Security Office to support the Safety and Security department.
Salary Range for this position is $ 50,388.00 to $ 64,476.00 annually, depending on experience.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Safety & Security, the Campus Safety & Security Office will be responsible for general security work including the enforcement of campus rules, policies, and procedures. The incumbent will provide highly visible patrol and investigate incidents and policy violations of the campus community. The incumbent may be required to successfully complete a law enforcement course approved by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. The incumbent will be required to maintain current First Aid and CPR Certification.
This position will be posted on the main South Seattle College campus in West Seattle but may be assigned to provide coverage for other satellite locations such as our Georgetown campus and/or New Holly Learning Center.
This position is governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with representation by WFSE and subject to union shop provisions.

What you will be working on:
¿ Patrol a designated area on foot or in patrol car to enforce institution rules and regulations, local, state and federal statutes and ordinances.
¿ Insect buildings and grounds for prowlers, fire, property damage, or other irregularities.
¿ Direct and regulate traffic, investigate accidents or crimes; administer first aid; issue citations for violations; gather evidence; locate witnesses; appear in court as required.
¿ Conduct parking enforcement on a regular basis.
¿ Operate department communication equipment; answer telephone inquiries; receive reports of criminal activity; dispatch foot and mobile units; operate paging system; monitor alarm systems; prepare, type and distribute reports.
¿ Respond to requests for first aid and support; assess situations and provide first aid support.
¿ Maintain surveillance of an area suspect of criminal activity.
¿ Assist city or county police and state patrol in cases of emergency.
¿ Lock and unlock campus facilities; maintain lock and unlock schedule.
¿ Activate and deactivate intrusion detection systems.
¿ Write complex reports documenting actions and maintain accurate records.
¿ Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
¿ High school graduation or equivalent.
¿ Ability to pass a criminal background check.
¿ Possession of a valid, unrestricted Driver¿s License.
¿ There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification(s). It is the employer¿s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certification(s) are obtained for each position.
¿ Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
¿ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite ¿ Excel, Outlook and Word specifically.
