Position, Department: Director of Human Resources
Type of Position: Full-time Salaried, Exempt
Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week
Pay Range: $83,200.00 - $109,900.00 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: The Director of Human Resources provides day-to-day operational leadership for the employee relations, compensation, benefits and employment services functions in the Human Resources Department. The Director of Human Resources will also lead and collaborate with the Vice President of Human Resources on strategic plans related to the functional areas listed above.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5 years progressive experience in human resources management roles.
- 2 years supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in human resources management roles.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- HRCI and/or SHRM Certification (SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP or SHRM - CP )
- Experience working in a higher education setting.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Collaborates with the Vice President of Human Resources to understand JCCC’s goals and strategies related to compensation, benefits, employee relations, employment services, and supports the HR strategies in these areas.
- Oversees and provides operational leadership for Human Resources functions in the areas of compensation, benefits, employee relations, and employment services.
- Monitors and ensures JCCC complies with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices. This includes educating and advising managers on HR-related legal and regulatory matters and ensuring HR programs, practices, and policies are aligned.
- Collaborates with the Vice President of Human Resources to review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Direct talent management strategies to ensure effective staffing alignment with the needs of the college. This includes overseeing recruitment efforts to ensure the organization is effectively and efficiently sourcing and selecting the right candidates.
- Oversees the administration of benefits and compensation to implement a competitive benefits and compensation package.
- Oversees and directs the administration of employee relations to include grievance and complaint processes; reviews recommendations for disciplinary action to ensure legal and policy compliance.
- Leads the effective and efficient administration of the performance management process, making sure that the college’s managers are equipped to engage in constructive and ongoing feedback and coaching, and encourage staff to actively participate in identifying and addressing performance gaps.
- Directs the preparation of various reports; presents information related to employment services, employee relations, benefits and compensation, to the Board of Trustees Employee Engagement and Development Committee.
- Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from JCCC's Human Resource Information System (HRIS), or talent management system.
- Ensures that employee files and records are properly and securely maintained.
- Serves as the Title IX Coordinator (HR) and Campus Security Authority.
- Other duties as assigned.
