Job Title- COORDINATOR-HEALTH SCIENCES CONTINUING EDUCATION
Position Status- Full Time
Classification Title- Grade 105
Work Location- Main Campus-3600 N. Garfield, Midland, TX
Job Summary- Responsible for coordinating activities related to Health Sciences Continuing Education programs and conferences, including course creation, marketing, student advising and registration, data collection and community outreach.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; or Associate’s Degree (or equivalent – 60 college credit hours) and a minimum of two years of relevant administrative experience that includes demonstrated work experience with detail-oriented tasks of a significant nature
- Computer literacy to include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of general office equipment including copier, fax machine, and multi-line telephone

- Knowledge of healthcare careers

Essential Functions
- Assist the Dean of Health Sciences CE and Dual Credit in coordinating Health Science Continuing Education programs
- Maintain proficiency with Higher Reach system: course data form entry, student information management, accounting
- Perform initial student advisement and coordinate the registration process
- Coordinate course payment collection, including invoicing
- Manage collection and record-keeping of student registration requirements: immunization records, criminal background checks, drug screening, liability and health insurance, and other requirements as needed
- Oversee student identification badge production
- Provide instructor support, including assistance with room reservation, media equipment, supplies, materials, textbooks, course scheduling, and facilitating a strong working relationship with instructors
- Coordinate clinical site management, including assisting with scheduling, communications, maintaining affiliation agreements, and maintaining effective relationships
- Create and provide course completion certifications
- Collect and summarize course evaluations
- Collect and summarize student data based on success measurements: completion, industry certification, employment, and advancement into academic health science programs
- Coordinate all functions of community conferences and seminars
- Develop and disseminate department marketing materials
- Assist with accreditation applications
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- The person in this position needs to move to other locations on campus occasionally
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Use of manual dexterity
- The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 25 pounds
- Duties indoors and some outdoors
- Office environment
- Ability to work extended hours and attend Midland College or community events
Security Sensitivity- All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.
Min Salary- $22.33 per hour
Max Salary- $22.67 per hour
Pay Statement- Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
