Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

IT Network Engineer twill have a strong background in cloud-based networking with Azure and AWS, as well as in-depth knowledge of on-premises networking hardware and protocols. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, research acumen, and collaborative project management skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on both cloud-based (Azure, AWS) and on-premises networking.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Profound knowledge of virtual networking and cloud services, including setup, management, and optimization of cloud-based networks.
  • Expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and network architecture principles.
  • Strong experience with network security practices, including firewall management and intrusion detection systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Relevant certifications in Azure or AWS cloud technologies, network security (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP).
  • Prior experience in cybersecurity research or related projects.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments.
  • Experience in network automation through scripting or programming.
  • Have an Active TS/SCI clearance

Additional Information:

Salary range is $114,960 – $143,700.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work performed in a normal office environment, spending many hours in front of a computer. Irregular work hours occasionally required to complete tasks or respond to specific IT needs/emergencies in support of ARLIS business operations. Ability to attend events and meetings on and off campus. Must be able to be on site in the office 5 days a week.
