Research Assistant
Job Description
The Department of Neurology is seeking a Research Assistant for the Marsh Lab. The Marsh Lab is a clinical/translational research laboratory based on the Johns Hopkins Bayview Campus. Patients are seen in clinic and recruited for ongoing observational and treatment studies evaluating stroke recovery, with a focus on post-stroke cognition and modulation of cognitive networks. This position will directly report to Dr. Marsh and be responsible for working with patients participating in research studies, helping others in the lab and performing other related research activities in the lab.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain study databases and be responsible for participant enrollment and data entry for various research studies.
- Oversee research volunteers within the lab (not direct reports) to help with ongoing projects.
- Assist with cognitive testing, scoring, organizing, and storing data.
- Perform duties related to ongoing studies, e.g. submitting documentation to the IRB.
- Aid in study recruitment and facilitation of patients to their study visits and MEG Scans, both at Bayview and the University of Maryland at College Park.
- Opportunity to take part in analysis and reporting of data for publication is expected.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
- Reliable transportation for travel to the University of Maryland at College Park for MEG Scans.
- Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some familiarity with cognitive testing and statistics or ability and willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with the IRB processes and clinical research studies.
- Familiarity with RedCap databases.

Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)
