Systems Analyst Senior
Job Description
We are currently seeking an Senior Systems Analyst who will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.
Job Summary
Perform complex computer information systems analysis and technical application design and development work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Analyze existing procedures for efficiency and effectiveness.
Design, code, and implement new or revised methods that more effectively meet departmental and institutional needs.
Apply Application Development Project Management methodologies to all projects, large and small.
Prepare charts, diagrams and tables depicting the proposed systems in terms of cost, tasks, and schedule.
Prepare Business Process diagrams and other information portraying the movement of work through the organizational elements.
Formulate logical descriptions of problems and devises optimum solutions.
Monitor and assist in facilitating the progress of assigned projects.
Provide regular updates on projects status and on requirements for additional implementations of new functionality and enhancements.
Coordinate with Information Technology personnel, consultants and other external resources to ensure efficient and effective resource utilization.
Monitor the interface of systems/subsystems and software applicants.
Evaluate and recommend action on testing and implementation of software/hardware upgrades.
Provide technical support for new or enhanced systems and ancillary applications.
Recommend and provide specifications for requirement gaps, interfaces, enhancements and workflow.
Serve as a project leader, overseeing the planning, development, troubleshooting, testing and implementation of enhancements to application software systems.
Analyze technology needs for business applications.
Monitor progress of projects against approved plans and schedules.
Research and recommend appropriate hardware, software and network solutions pertaining to application area of responsibility.
May work flexible work schedule as needed
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or Engineering required
- 8 years directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of required degree
- PeopleSoft Applicants: Experience with PeopleSoft version 9.2 PUMxx online applications for any of the following modules – Finance, Human Resources and Student Administration. Extensive experience with PeopleCode, PeopleTools; Application Designer, SQR and SQL; Familiarity with BI Reporting, Crystal Reporting; PeopleSoft portal, Integration Broker, Oracle, LDAP & Solaris preferred
- Web Focused Applicants: Proficiency in HTML, SQL, XML and Oracle with emphasis on Web related software system design, implementation and support in various genres; Data Warehousing design, implementation and support experience preferred
- Experience with business productivity applications, applying continuous business process improvement techniques preferred
- Experience in coding and design of web based solutions required
- Experience working in a team environment required

Working Conditions
Hybrid Work / General office. May frequently be required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, photocopier, file cabinets, and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to reach and bend, and use 2-step stool while safely lifting and lowering boxes. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
