Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Academic Success and Student Support, the Student Support Manager will support School of Information students by directly supporting students experiencing complex incidents and crises impacting their campus life. You will collaborate extensively with the School of Information (UMSI) staff, faculty, and university partners to holistically support students through intervention, education, outreach, and referrals to appropriate support services. You will also collaborate with the Assistant Director of Academic Success to lead, implement, and support academic success programs, workshops, and resource development.

The Academic Programs and Student Life (APSL) team at UMSI focuses on student success across academic programs. Our four main areas are academic program management, advising, student support, and student life. We help with personal concerns and campus navigation through direct support and referrals. We prioritize student success and continuously develop initiatives to enhance the UMSI student experience.

Work Schedule

Punctual and regular attendance is required. May require working during non-business hours and on weekends.

Work Locations

The main office workspace for this position is located in the UMSI Collegian Building. May require travel to multiple locations on and off campus.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
