Class Description
The purpose of this position is to provide professional level administrative support services to the Honors Program on the Dundalk Campus.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma/GED and five years related office experience or Associate’s Degree and three years related office experience; knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications; must complete and pass Microsoft testing modules which includes Word and Excel and demonstrate the ability to type 30 wpm. (Candidates with proof of current Microsoft Office Expert Specialist Certification do not need to test.)
Class Specific Essential Duties
- Assist and provide information to students, faculty, administrators and the college community.
- Assist in planning meetings, special events, and with special projects.
- Serve as liaison between department or program and other offices or organizations.
- Research, analyze and process data into college systems.
- Maintain records and files.
- Answer, screen and direct telephone calls.
- Compile reports, documents, forms and correspondence.
- Create and track check requests, requisitions, work orders and other request forms.
- Process and manage all relevant course, program and/or personnel paperwork.
Position Specific Essential Duties
- Responsible for supervising the Honors Center and keeping it running from opening to closing at the end of each day, including maintenance of all equipment, supplies, repairs, discipline, classroom requests, and overseeing students’ events and activities.
- Arranges and follows up on all special events/projects for the Honors Program, including creating the flyer/announcements for events, ordering refreshments/materials needed, reserving rooms, and processing payment for guest speakers and refreshments.
- Serves as liaison between the Honors Programs on all three campuses and Phi Theta Kappa at Essex, as well as other departments at CCBC; also coordinates paperwork and projects with the 2 other Honors Program assistants.
- Works side by side with the Honors Program Director on the budget proposal each fiscal year and tracks the budget for the Honors Programs on all three campuses throughout the year.
- Collects and maintains up-to-date and accurate program data, and communicates data to the PRE and the Registrar’s offices.
- Processes and tracks applications to the Honors Program.
- Tracks enrollments and membership for all three campuses
- Monitor and train part-time associates and work study employees
- Assist the Lead Director with administrative tasks
