Sr. Administrative Coordinator
Job Description
The School of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology is seeking a Sr. Administrative Coordinator to support the work of the Cochlear Center for Hearing and Public Health. This position reports to the Academic Program Administrator in conjunction with the Associate Director for Academic Training and the Director. This position works closely with the academic team and has administrative responsibility for coordination of complex academic program elements requiring collaboration with staff, students, faculty, and other departments and programs.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for R61 (SENSE Network) by meeting with PIs, track and document progress of timelines and goals for each core, scheduling and attending meetings, taking and sharing meeting minutes, and following up on action items of faculty and staff.
- Web based support for SENSE Network to include keeping website updated with current information, hosting Zoom meetings (scheduling and attending), posting recordings from speakers on website.
- Create and oversee listserv communication and content management of social media to promote the Network (e.g., LinkedIn page, Instagram).
- Coordination and oversight of SENSE Network quarterly meetings to include requesting materials from speakers and communicating with organizers and ensuring accessibility, CART scheduling and set up.
- Plan and execute SENSE Network global research conference in Washington, DC, Fall 2025.
- Provide administrative support for Cochlear Center sponsored academic activities and trainee research opportunities (Seminars, Research-in-Progress meetings, Journal Clubs, etc.) to include facilitating in-person, virtual, and hybrid meetings, reserving event space, securing AV support, ordering and helping set up and clean up catering, sending calendar invitations and reminders.
- Provide administrative support for larger annual activities such as Cochlear Center Research Day.
- Calendar management for the Director and the Associate Director for Academic Training. Manage a complex calendar including responding to meeting requests in a timely manner. Ability to understand work and priorities for calendar availability.
- Work closely with Communication Associate and Communication Student Intern on Center communications.
- Assist with orientation of new trainees and staff to the Cochlear Center for Hearing and Public Health.
- Establish and maintains a positive and supportive environment to ensure that the educational and professional needs of trainees are met.
- Assist Cochlear Center faculty with administrative duties, including reimbursements and scheduling.
- Potential research opportunities with Center faculty depending on interest that could lead to scientific presentations and peer reviewed publications.
- May provide support to student groups.
- May independently manage specific program activities.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work independently and use reference manuals to develop proficiency with software or computer systems.
- Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills in the preparation and presentation of results.
- Good interpersonal skills in dealing with investigators and a “team-oriented” approach.
- Able to effectively prioritize and work on multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines and demonstrate excellent time management skills and efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Five years progressively responsible administrative experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $21.25 - $36.90 HRLY ($72,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
