Position Description: The Director of Institutional Research is responsible for leadership of institutional effectiveness and research, ensuring the accurate collection, analysis, and data reporting to support accreditation, grant development, institutional reporting and decision-making. This position serves on the Presidents Cabinet and plays a key role in assisting the President with strategic planning efforts.
Position Responsibilities: 25.00% - Infrastructure
1. Responsible for the knowledge and customization of reporting software tools used with the organizations ERP system, to lead a robust Institutional Effectiveness department, support student learning, strategic planning, and decision-making throughout the institution.
70.00% - Institutional Research
1. Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of Institutional Effectiveness activities and data requests.
2. Track and coordinate data requests from various departments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of data. This position will work with relevant stakeholders to provide data analysis.
3. Assist the President in the development and implementation of the strategic plan and Board ENDS to meet the Colleges mission and vision. This includes presenting updates to the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders.
4. Responsible for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data to inform and support institutional decision making and monitoring of institutional effectiveness.
5. Administer student and employee satisfaction surveys. Analyze and disseminate the results to appropriate stakeholders.
6. Support college wide accreditation and assessment activities.
7. Ensure compliance for all institutional reporting to the Kansas Board of Regents, state, regional, and federal reporting agencies. This includes timely and accurate submission of all reports. Ensure compliance with federal legislation and maintaining updated content of institutional webpages.
8. Create dashboards and reports to inform stakeholders on student enrollment, retention, and success.
9. Serve as the departments primary liaison with external reporting agencies and stakeholders, effectively communicating and collaborating.
10. Oversee data accuracy process by reviewing data collection methodology and managing the data verification process.
11. Manage access to reporting systems through password control, distribution, and security measures.
12. Stay current on new trends, best practices, and innovation in higher education and institutional effectiveness.
13. Serve on various college committees.
5.00% - Performs other duties as needed or assigned. Expectations: Provide supervision and support to the Institutional Effectiveness staff and coordinate all institutional effectiveness/research department assignments and requests. Oversee approval of payroll, leave, and requisitions. This position is expected to serve on President's Cabinet and President's Staff. Consult with administration, faculty and staff regarding institutional research relative to their respective areas. This is not a remote position.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience - Two years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education - A Bachelor's degree.
Interpersonal Skills - The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position. Work frequently involves contacts requiring considerable discussion of problems, material presentations, and resolving issues impacting departments or divisions. Other Skills - Master's degree preferred. Experience or training in the collection, analysis, and presentation of research data.
Physical Requirements:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office or classroom.
Wages/Other: The salary range for this position is $68.178.56 to $76,046.36.
